The Clerk's Office

The Clerk’s Office serves as the official custodian of court records for the State and Magistrate Courts. The office is responsible for maintaining and safeguarding all official records related to:

State Court Division A

House Bill 77 Legislation passed in July 2021 and made effective January 1, 2022. The new law, provides that the current Jury Division be renamed DIVISION A. The name Jury Division will not be used on and forward of January 1, 2022, and shall be referred to as DIVISION A of the DeKalb County State Court. consists of the Civil and Criminal Departments of the State Court.

State Court Division B (Traffic)

State Court Division B was established following the dissolution of the Recorder’s Court of DeKalb County, effective July 1, 2015. As part of this transition, all traffic case records were transferred to the Clerk of the State Court of DeKalb County. All other records, including those related to code enforcement cases, were transferred to the Clerk of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County. If you are seeking records pertaining to any of these cases, please contact the Clerk’s Office for assistance.

Marshals Office

The Marshal’s Office, as part of DeKalb County’s law enforcement community, is committed to protect life and property, arrest violators of the law, and enforce all laws and ordinances coming within the Office’s jurisdiction.

D.U.I. Court

The mission of the DUI Cout Program is to enhance public safety by reducing recidivism of DUI offenders by breaking the cycle of addiction through a combination of individualized treatment, personal accountability, and intensive court supervision to promote individual responsibility and citizenship and return a more productive member back to the community.

Court Administration

The Court Administrator’s Office provides essential administrative and operational support to the judges of the State Court. Its core responsibilities include: Judicial Support Services – Coordinating daily court operations to ensure the efficient administration of justice.
Budget Management – Developing and overseeing the court’s budget in collaboration with county financial authorities.
Facilities Maintenance Coordination – Serving as the liaison for courtroom and judicial facility maintenance and improvements.
Interpreter Services – Managing interpreter requests to ensure language access for all court participants.
Interagency Liaison – Facilitating communication and coordination between the judiciary and other government agencies.
The Court Administrator’s Office is committed to supporting the effective and fair operation of the State Court system.

Probation Department

The DeKalb County State Court Probation Department was created and legislated by the governing authority September 16, 1992 through HB 1607, . We are a full-service law enforcement agency, made up of administrative staff and POST certified, sworn officers who protect and serve the community.  The Probation Dept. is an integral part of the criminal justice system and law enforcement community of DeKalb County, Ga.

Magistrate Court

The DeKalb County Magistrate Court—often called “the people’s court”—is a vital part of Georgia’s judicial system, handling a wide range of civil, criminal, and ordinance matters for DeKalb County residents.
