The Office of the Clerk of Court serves as the official record keeper for the State and Magistrate Courts. The Office is responsible for maintaining accurate, secure, and accessible records for misdemeanor criminal and civil matters and plays a critical role in supporting the administration of justice.
Through diligent recordkeeping, compliance with applicable laws and court rules, transparent access to public information, and a commitment to exceptional customer service, the Clerk’s Office helps ensure that the judicial process operates efficiently, fairly, and with integrity.
The Clerk’s Office is responsible for:
• Managing and preserving official court records, filings, and case-related documents;
• Processing and filing misdemeanor criminal and civil cases and related pleadings and documents;
• Ensuring compliance with applicable state laws, court rules, administrative procedures, and established office policies;
• Providing timely and accurate access to court records and information for the public, attorneys, litigants, law enforcement, and other authorized parties;
• Supporting court operations by providing administrative and records-related services to judges, court personnel, and other justice-system partners; and
• Assisting the public with court-related services in a courteous, professional, respectful, and efficient manner.
